Of Other's issues and a Dragon Lance

Of Other's Issues....

For some weird reason I am a pillar, a psuedo big sister, a real big sister, and mother hen. I do not see these things in myself nor do I honestly relate to anyone who does. Everyone else sees these things in me though, and that means that I am going to be present for all of their issues.
Now, mind you, this isn't always bad. Often times I enjoy being able to help out a friend or give comfort over the phone or tell some one they're being ridiculous.
The thing that bothers me is: I don't know where they're getting this image of me from!
"You're so deep and wise." Acutally I was just stating the obvious from an outside perspective. And really I'm not that deep... most of my thoughts come in comic book form.
My insides probably are three times as scrambled up as those who come to me for hugs and some how I'm supposed to help them get their insides in order.
Well... if there's no one else to do it, might as well be me.
Maybe I should go to school and get payed to listen to other's issues. God knows I do it enough already.

and A Dragon Lance....

So I'm reading the Dragon Lance books for the first time. Can anyone tell me why Raistlin is so freaking popular?! Missy? Anyone?!

Guess my Faith, get a Cookie

Why do I get asked if I'm wiccan? Is it the long flowy skirt? the floofy wash and wear hair? my general interest in using God's creation of nature as it was intended to be used? Maybe I should get a t-shirt that says "Christ follower incognito." ((because 'follower of the Way' or 'Child of Light' probably wouldn't dawn on people. haha, pun!))
I'll let you know if anyone's mind changes when I finally get down to making my steam punk dress. (something like this with belts and buckles... and Goggles!)

Me and Myself

I was sitting down today thinking that I needed to change the back ground of my blog to fit my mood better. You know maybe a splash of color or something.

I sat and stared at my blog for a long time trying to come up with alternative designs and patterns and styles. Honestly I came up with a lot of them. But as I went through them they were all very changeable. If I chose one of them I'd probably change my blog style every other week, or something.

Then something hit me. A realization I hadn't quite grasped. I really didn't want to change my blog style or picture or any such thing. I wanted to change something about me.
Because, as I sit and stare at the picture I chose as the head of my blog I realized something. My blog is the image of myself.
I don't know when this happened or why. I just know that the way I styled my blog is a mirror of what I see when I look on my insides. (no not my guts and bones, my spiritual and mental insides)
Actually, it kind of made me happy that it was so serene, even if it got a little dark sometimes. Just stare at the picture of the temple ruins I have on my blog and see what you feel.

Maybe it's just the picture that's a mirror.

Either way, somehow as I did this I found an acceptance of myself I hadn't had before. And it feels really really good.
